How to get audio back?

My computer was running slow, so I decided to pull up the ctrl+alt+delete menu and turn some stuff off. I accidentally turned off something called “svchost.exe” and now the sound isn’t working on my computer.

I tried to run it again, but that didn’t seem to work…

Any help would be nice! :)

Answer #1

Yea, just restart your computer. Luckily you turned off the system file not delete it.

Answer #2

just restart your computer

Answer #3

if that doesnt work go to start, hit run and type in services.msc scroll down to where it says windows audio click it and on the right it’ll say either start or stop if it says start click it and the sound should be fine if it says stop I don’t know lol

Answer #4

opps thats comes with windows so dont touch it again unless you know what your doing…

if the restart dont help try what demon said…

if the 1st 2 things did not re-enable the audio..

then just try the most basic thing and go: start - control panel - sounds and audio devices: and make sure the volume is up is up enough and also make sure ‘use this device (enable)’ is selected..

also if you go: right click my computer - properties - device manager - (look for your audio device) right click it - properties: and under the ‘general’ tab you will see ‘device status’ and if you can tell us what it says there if the other advice hasnt worked that would be great ;)
