How to deal with my boyfriends ex wanting him back?

My boyfriends ex is trying to get him back and its hard on me for some reason. They dated for 2 years, the relationship ended like a year ago - she broke up with him for no reason (she lives like ~2 hours away). Anyways she sent him a text message today and he didn’t hide it or anything, he showed me it. I didn’t really want to see but I looked anyways and it was saying how she misses him and wants him back. He told me that he wouldn’t want anyone other then me and she doesn’t stand a chance. I don’t know if he sent one back to her, I’m not going to snoop his phone to find out. He told me he doesn’t want any other girl, him and I have a future together.

Just the fact that she sent the message is kind of hurting me inside and I don’t even know why. I’ve known him for a year now and he would never hurt me but I just have this awful feeling inside knowing that some other girl wants my man. I know hes happy with me, he always tells me and he keeps telling me how excited he is to spend the weekend with me. Him and I spend A LOT of time together and when we’re not hanging out we’re usually talking to each other in some way. How can I get over this?

Maybe if you tell him how that made you feel and talked about with him or someone else you really trust. It’s normal for stuff like this to happen but you should try to do stuff and get your mind off it. hope this helps

I know how you feel I’ve felt the same way before. I think it does show a lot that he didn’t hide it from you so he isn’t going to try and hide anything from you no matter what which of course is good. You just have to keep telling yourself that he wants to be with you and only you. You two seem really happy together he won’t ruin it. He’s just going to forget about this girl because he is happy with you.

The only thing I can think of, is to just know this, boys will be boys. They will do what they can get away with and what they believe you will not find out about. Him showing you the message is letting you know that she sent it to him, however it is also a way for him to maybe snoop with her and have you thinking that he will not because he showed you the message and fed you that line about how he only wants to be with you. Love your boyfriend, and listen to what he tells you, but dont always believe him. Dont confront the girl; what would be the point, to let her know she has the upper hand on you by pissing you off? Shes a female. Thats what they do. But just keep in mind that his ex still has feelings for him, forget being mad about it, if your boyfriend is a cutie girls will always want him, and dont let it piss you off. People love to see relationships fail, and why youre crying about her sending him a text, she will be smiling knowing that it mad you 2 break up.

The only sure way for you to not feel what you do is for your boyfriend to tell his ex to back off and never contact him again. She will do it again and she still has that number. It happened to me. I didnt want to change my number but I did and I never received any calls or text msgs ever again. I think its great that he showed you the text and obviously cares about you and what you think and is letting you know what is going on w/him regarding his ex. He has to tell her. Concentrate on your happiness together and the fact that you trust him and love him. I know in the back of your mind you will think whether or not she may have texted him today or called him etc…but get him to change the number. He should also tell her straight up to respect his wishes and that by her calling or texting its a disrespect to your relationship. He can make this call in front of you so it might ease your mind. Funmail me if you want to talk more :)
