How should I bring this up?

For a year or so I’ve been coughing up these little white chunks. They come out when I sneeze too. Last night I decided to google it. Every website said TONSIL STONES. I took a flashlight and looked in my throat. Sure enough, there’s a bunch of them in there. They make my throat hurt a little and I ALWAYS feel like there’s something stuck in my throat. But I never throat anything of that before. Most people can get them out by themselves. I can’t. I gag. A lot.

Should I see my doctor about this? And how should I bring this up to my mom? Like.. what can I say to make her believe me? (If some one had told me about them before last night I wouldn’t have believed them.)

Help! They REALLY bother me.

Ok, I have first hand experience in this area, just go to your mom and dont do it jokeingly, that just takes longer, be direct say “hey there is something wrong” Go to the docs, and tell him your symptoms, and he will make a descision if a tonsillectomy is right for you, though most likely not just for tonsil stones. I was getting them as big as my pinky, and I get tonsillitis quite frequently. I got my tonsils out 3 weeks ago, and its NOT for the weak, it was painful and a horrible experience.

this is so interesting I reserached it and found out a bit more about them too only to realsie that I’ve actually had them before only 2 and it was quite a while ago but they were small and white and when I broke them open they smelt absolutly horrible I had no idea what on earth they were I havent had any since then though there is a little bit of information here on how to get rid of them http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tonsillolith also since they only occur in people who still have there tonsils if its really bothering you having your tonsils removed would be the best option and would remove them completely
