How old do you have to be to get a tongue piercing with my mom?

Ok! So I’ve been planning on getting my tongue pierced for almost a year. My mom never really agreed with it until just resently. I stopped in at a tattoo shop today and I waited for almost a while hour to get it done. I’m 15 years old but they said I MUST be 16 even tho my mom was their with me. Were they just dumbasses who had no idea what they were talking about because I have a friend who’s 15 and she has hers done! Should I try somewhere else and see what they think?! I live in Michigan, is it only a Michigan law or what?! Please help me. I really want this done :)

That’s the thing. I went there and the guy who did hers doesn’t work there anymore. But thanks I’ll try somewhere else :)

well, first of those people were NOT duymbasses every tattoo parlour has different rules some places will pierce kids under 16 some places you MUST be 16 with parental consent it depends on the place you go to usually were you are the law is you need to be 16 with parental consent but that doesnt go to say that there arnt kids who get it illegally done by lying or getting it done by an unprofesional

o I got mines done when I was 16 with my mama consent… I’m in Houston TX tho… Try another place or go where your friend went to get hers done..
