How old do I have to be to get a piercing in PA?

I’m turning 16 in two weeks. I’ve heard I can get pierced without my parent’s permission at 16. But a friend of mine said a local tattoo place says you have to have an adult. Tell me something different so I can go get my septum done without my parents stopping me?

In most USA places, if you want a tattoo/piercing and don’t want your parents to stop you - then you have to be18. If you want one and your under 18, you’ll have to either A. talk to your parents/reason with them and try to get to change their mind, or B. wait until your 18. If you try plan A, then you’ll have to go with plan B like it or not. The person you take with you CAN’T be an older friend, brother/sister, relative, or other person you know - it HAS to be a parent or legal guardian. I’m not saying you will, but DO NOT attempt to pierce it yourself. It wouldn’t work out, your parents WOULD know and it’d just be pure stupid.
