How much trouble could I get in with the law for this?

I am a bank of america student account user and I am 17. During the week of Thanksgiving I spent about 550 dollars and although my account didn’t have it. However when the overdraft dues kicked in my amount due was 750.Thanks to family and friends willing to help me get the money together I will be able to pay by mid January. My mother on the other hand is saying that I will be arrested, but I am not sure if it ib really because of my lastest english grade. Either way she doesn’t want to help me. Now here is the complicated twist. According to my mother who is already stressed about our approaching moving date this is a felony and I won’t be allowed to move to Korea with them. So this is my question… How long will I have to payback the money? And will I be arrested soon for this? I have every intention of paying the bank,so it’s not like I’m trying to scam anyone. Please help…I’m too afraid to even think straight.

You wont get arrested. Also, when I was 17, in order for me to sign up for an account in bank of america, I needed someone over 18 to sign for me. Since you’re under 17, they cant hold you legally responsible for a contract anyways. Whoever signed that with you is going to be held responsible anyways. No idea what your mother is going on about.

I did this too :) My balance was routed to a collector so I pay them now and it’s all fine. So don’t fret my friend, just get on that balance before it gets bigger.

It has happened to me in the past and nothing happens they charge you $35 for every transaction that you make with no funds all you do is pay and that is all. If you don’t pay I guess they just send you to a collector who will call you and tell you that you need to pay and if you don’t then maybe there could be some problems but as long as you pay your good. How about you call the bank and talk to them they’ll be able to tell you how long you have to pay.
