How long will the baby survive, if she does?

One of my sisters is in pre-term labor. She is 24 weeks and we are in the hospital now and I am really scared. The doctors are trying to slow down the labor but she is already 5 centimeters dialated. What is the chance of Miyah surviving? As you can tell by my username I LOVE BABIES AND I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO STAND HAVING MY NIECE DIE! If she does survive how long will she be in the hospital??? I’m scared!!!

Well, after 23 weeks babies can survive with help. Sadly, not all of them do. The baby could be in the hospital for weeks or even months. Every baby is different. It also depends on if the baby is just premature or if other conditios come from this. I wish your family all the luck. I am 7 months pregnant and I know that would be terrribly scary. Best wishes.
