How long does it take to save up for a car?

I’m 16 and my parents said they would buy me a car but I want to earn it myself. I’m school still and only work two days a week 6 hours a day and get paid $10 a hour. Any idea how long it will take me and how expensive a car is?

Determine the cost of the car first - then you’ll be able to determine how long it will take you to make a purchase or down-payment…I wish you the best !!

…a long, long time. The cheapest price range for a sedan would be $10,000 - $15,000. You could try to get a used car for about $5,000, but then you’d have to spend even more money trying to fix it.

Actually, I have no idea how that translates into Canadian. Probably even more expensive, though.
