How long does it take for a septum piercing to grow in?

I’ve’ had my septum for about 9 months tops, & its healed amazing, just starts hurting to let me know when to clean it. I clean it everyday, and its amazing, but my ring is stripped so I used one of my friends balls, the normal size wont stay on keeps falling off, my piercer even tried another but fell off, my friends is a size bigger than mine, so it fits okay for now. My question is, can I change it? or will it grow in immediatly? Cause I really need a new ring. Can I do it myself? Or should I find a piercer that can? Doesnt’ really hurt that much but im afraid of not being able to get it back in and losing it. :( Help me please. Long question I know but, eh.

I’d say it would take a few days seeing as you have it done for 9 months! I’ve mine done about 6 months now and it fell out in my sleep when I had it done 3 months and when I tried to put it back in it went in straight away like=] I hope this helps=/ x

If you’ve had it for nine months, it won’t close in during a switch … as long as it isn’t left for a few days, you should be fine.
