How does it feel when braces come off?

Ok don’t be scared, you never know how it’s going to turn out. When I got my braces off it didn’t hurt, just was a little uncomfortable and when I rinsed out my mouth there was a little blood but that’s normal. And when you get your retainer they will tell you when and when not to wear them. eventually you will only have to wear them at night, you CAN wear them forever (as in only wear them at night) to keep your teeth from possibly shifting back to their old crooked state.

It’s so great to have them off. It took 3 hours to get mine off and it does hurt a little bit but not much so you shouldn’t worry about that. After you get them off your gums will be swollen for 24 hours and it will look really weird for a bit.

I wouldnt say retainers are for forever… I got told I could stop wearing them after so long… to begin with was 24/7 then it was to take them out when I eat… then it was to wear them just at night then every other day then eventually I was off them

but when you have your braces off.. you’ll find that your teeth will feel sensitive.. like a weak feeling but ya’ll also find that your teeth will feel sooo smooth and will feel really good :) but yeah do make sure you follow what your orthodontist tells you to keep your teeth in good shape :) enjoy :)

I JUST got my braces off, what they do is with plyers pinch the brackets and they pop off. then they sand away at the glue. then they put that yucky stuff that they make a mould of your teeth with and your mouth. then they make your retainer from that. your teeth feel slimy cause youre used to it being so rough. make sure you wear you retainer the way they tell you to cause when I leave mine off for a couple hours it hurts like hell to put it back on so your better off to just leave it on. retainers are forever, my boyfriend got his off 3 years ago and is still wearing his retainer, and he forgot his top retainer for so long and it doesnt fit anymore andhe says his teeth are shifting to this day.

I’m currently in the 8th grade, and I’ve had my braces for almost 4 years; so basiclly I”m grown up with them. I’m supposed to be getting them off in less than 1 week, and I’m so scared my pants will jump off me. What should I expect? Will I bleed; will I be able to smile? After I get my braces off, my mom told me I could get my teeth whitened. Will it hurt my mouth,when the dentists do that?
