How eco friendly are wooden beads ?

What are wooden beads? I need brief information about its quality & usage.

Answer #1

When I lived in africa the woman would take the garbage out of the stream and make it into these beautiful glass beads. If you wanted to get eco friendly you could see if you could find some of those, but I dont know how you would get them, though that would be better than a wooden bead.

Answer #2

Wooden beads are eco friendly in the truest sense. They are usually prepared out of wood of trees such as birch, olive, rosewood and tigerwood to name a few. Wooden beads are made attractive by painting them with bright colours and polishing them well and giving them a sleek finish. They are available in well polished and natural colours and in various small sizes to big sizes. For more information visit: http://www.the-beadshop.co.uk/index.php/beads/wooden-beads.html

Answer #3

If they were made from salvaged wood or bamboo and sold locally, they’d be very eco-friendly. On the other hand, cutting down trees just to make beads and them shipping them all over the world would be an entirely different story.

Answer #4

Wooden beads like for necklaces? Well they are as environmentally friendly as paper. It takes cutting down trees to make them unless they are recycled.

Answer #5
