How do you do the cool backrounds?

I was wondering how you do the cool backrounds like the chekered and other cool ones I dont see it in cuztamize pls help me

ok you go to customize. at the bottom it says “choose a color for background OR..blah blahh.” you click the upload picture one. but you have to have already saved the pictures in your “my photos” section thats what I did..and it worked just fine for me :]
