I don’t have my tongue pierced, but I’ve gone with people when they got their’s pierced. The piercer asks you to stick out your tongue, they either get a marker and put a dot on either side of your tongue, or they put a clamp on your tongue–sometimes they do both. Then, the piercer sticks the needle through the clamp and/or on the dot. Then they slide the needle out and slide the jewelry through, and put the ball on the bottom of the tongue ring.
