How do pay as you go phones work?

I’m thinking about getting one of those pay as you go phones from walmart. I was just wondering about the minutes. When you run out of minutes does it automaticly stop or can you keep talking and get a bill?

Answer #1

I have personally run out of minutes, and the call just gets cut off. Do the math with the walmart prepaid phones: The deals are really bad, and the ones that seem like they are are the ones that get no reception. Try it if you want to.

Answer #2

That’s the whole point… there’s no bill… you pay before hand

Answer #3

Pay as you go phones. You buy a top. Which is money for your phone. Say $10. There will be set prices for texts and calls Say 20 cents a text and so on. Once you have used your $10 you buy another $10… thats why its called, pay as you go… Well thats how they work in the UK

Answer #4

No, it just stops. You have to buy refill cards.
