How do I stop popups?

they are driving me mad!

Answer #1

I already have the yahoo toolbar/blocker thing. so I guess it’s more of a anti-spyware/adware issue. I’m just sorting the yahoo anti-spy thing.

Answer #2

change from your current browser to Mozilla Firefox - it is better, and automatically blocks pop-ups. it will ask you, if you go to a site that needs to add a pop-up, and if you want to let that one pop-up in, you can authorize it. Otherwise, it stops ‘em dead in their tracks!

Answer #3

I have the google toolbar which includes a pop-up blocker AND a built in spell checker AND an auto form filler.

For spyware I run “Spybot-Search and Destroy” and “Ad-aware” every 1-2 weeks. Both are very good and very free.

Answer #4

oh great. where can I get this good free stuff you’re on about?

Answer #5

I am with AT&T and my internet is with them, so there is automatically a pop up blocker at the top. I haven’t seen a pop up in years. I think you can download a yahoo tool bar that has a pop blocker in it. I’m not totally sure. You can probably download one somewhere, just make sure its a safe one that doesn’t had a lot of adware on it, which can cause other problems.

Answer #6

Ad aware is really great, you are right.

Answer #7

Answer #8
