How do I stop my rottwieler molting?

My rotty molts bad I need help

Answer #1

He doesn’t “molt”…he sheds. And when it appears that he might literally go bald from it…it’s called “blowing his coat”.

Rotties do have an undercoat, and they do shed. Brushing him every day during the blowing his coat time, will do wonders. The rest of the year, brushing him every week should help.

ALSO, go to Walmart and pick up some Fish Oil Caps…just toss one in his food everyday. These are full of Omega’s, and Omega’s are great for health coat and healthy skin…and they reduce the shedding. They are also very inexpensive.

Answer #2

Talk to his vet. If it’s that bad there’s likely something else going on and he should be seen. Always consult a professional when dealing with your pets or children, don’t leave it up to the advice of some random teenager on a website. Phone calls to vets/doctors are free and they can usually answer questions without having to see the animal. They can tell you whether or not you need to bring him in, and what you can try to do to help him out.
