How do I get to I love you w. Him ?

We’ve been together for 6 months, and we’ve been close friends for about 2 years before we started dating. We are both 17 years old..I feel like hes the closest person to me and these 3 words will be the best form of expressing it. But I feel like I kind of made him feel rejected when he first brought this up.

maybe you should start by telling him how you feel, this happened to one of my best friends last year. they dated for about 3 months and he told her he loved her and she told him she wasn’t ready yet. A couple months after she was telling me that she did love him and didnt know how to bring it up. every case is different but she just told him how she felt and told him about how she wasn’t ready before but now she was. So far they have been together for over a year and they are one of the happiest couples I know
