How do I get rid of acne?

Okay so this is kinda embarassing, lucky for me none of you on here know me. haha. So here’s my question: I have acne (well…I don’t know if it’s really acne or not. Just like, a bunch of whiteheads and blackheads, they don’t usually get huge but sometimes they do, and they are noticeable) but I have it all over. All.Over. Face, head (like, in my hair), ears, neck, chest, arms, breasts, back, “the underwear zone”, and even my upper legs. It’s so embarassing and it’s made me so self-conscious. I hate locker rooms and swimming and dresses and stuff. Everyone says Pro-Active works, so I tried it…and it only made it worse. They said to just keep on using it, it’ll get worse before it gets better, but it never did. And Clearasil and Neutrogena don’t work either. I’m not a dirty person–I shower every day and use a good soap and eat a healthy diet, but NOTHING seems to work. ANY advice would be so much appreciated…

listen no, they might not be blackheads or whiteheads or ANYTHING related to acne. it is most likely a VERY common condition called KERATOSIS PILARIS. it causes the appearance of semi-rough bumps on the skin. it most often appears on back and outer sides of upper arms (if you pay attention, you will see a LOT of people have it there) and can sometimes occur on the upper thighs, tops of legs, buttocks..basically it can be ANYWHERE but places like your palms or soles on feet. seriously, do your research on this and next time you go to your doctor for a check-up ask him about this. trust me, a LOT of people have it, but most have it in fewer areas. most often I’ve seen it are the back of arms, or back of your thighs. my sister has this too, by the way :]

(This is just an addition to the other answers…)

Some people can’t use acne treatments, such as myself, and I find that drinking pretty much nothing but water clears up my face, and it’s healthy for you.

Okay I understand what your going through I used to get acne on my back no where else though… my face was clear and then my back was so bad so I understand what your going through. I actually think pro-active is a waste of time and money so I don’t suggest using it at all. Go to your doctor and ask for Clindoxyl Gel it’s is the best thing I have ever used and actually does work. The only really bad thing about it is that there is bleach in it cause it is so strong so it can bleach your clothes if you don’t wait for it to dry. It works really well and I’m sure it can help you and within 3 days you’ll see a improvement anyways good luck

Firstly using substances derived from vitamin A like retin-a or tazarotene, to reduce inflammation of the skin and to unplug pores. Retin-A can cause skin reddening at first but this is quite normal as the skin’s blood supply is improved and younger looking skin begins to appear presenting a youthful complexion. Using a product that includes zinc will also help the vitamin a function better. you can find more information at http://www.nutrition4yourskin.co.uk/

I have this thing called the zeno. http://www.zeno.com its quite expensive but works reallyyy amazingly.

also try consulting a dermatolgist for some advise

also, stridex powerpads work really good. just wipe your face with a few of them daily. also, if you are acne prone on forhead region, make sure your hair isnt causing it. bangs with hairspray, or just the oils in hair can cause it.
