How do I get out of this dinner invite?

Hey guys. I have been invited to go out for dinner by a friend for her 21st birthday. It’s at a really fancy restaurant. And by fancy I mean EXPENSIVE. I’m currently unemployed and literally have $3 in my bank account til next week when I get unemployment benefits :( I HATE being in this situation. I want to go out to dinner but I can’t afford it. The girl who invited me has no idea of my situation, as it’s not like I go around telling everyone how poor I am. How do I get out of this without looking like a poor unemployed loser, because that would be so embarassing :(

If you want to go you should ask someone to lend you money but if you dont you should talk to her about it.. IT happends to everyone so its no big deal.. :)

I would just tell her that you had plans that you forgot about or something like that. Or maybe just tell her you haven’t been feeling well and you don’t want to get everyone else sick. Thats what I would do.
