How do I find my birth father without spending money?

I would love to find my birth father for health reasons only, nothing more. The coward walked out on my mother when she informed him she was pregnant with me. Never saw a glimpse of him in my life I am now 20 years of age and have many concerns for my health and his family history. How do I find him without spending money when all I know is his name?

Myspace and facebook are often good resources. Does she know where he went to high school? They’ll have a record of him, and a forwarding address so that he can be invited to reunions and such. Even if she knows where he went to college, they should still have a record of him and, minimum, a phone number to reach him. Also, you can check property ownership information- that is public record. If your mom knows when he lived in what town, and his address, you can find out a little information on him if he owned a home. If he rented, then the former landlords may have some information on him. It’d be cool if he had a co-signer and it was his parents… because grandparents don’t often move, and you might be able to contact them. Please brace your heart- this may not be the easiest or most welcoming experience of your life. I hope you get all the answers you are looking for. Kick the loser in the nuts for me, lol. I’m an abandoned mother (exhusband kicked me to the curb when I was 8 months pregnant) so I am really hoping you can get your teeth into him and tear him a new one for doing that to you AND your mom. I know I’ve not been MUCH help, but these are all free resources. If you’re willing to pay a bit of money, you may be able to find some more out.

either way your probably going to end up spending money an easier way might be to spend money to get the babies dna tested so you can find out exactly who the father is

well I don’t know if this would work but there are certain sites you can go to that will give you some info about whoever your’e looking for. This was how I was able to find my grandfather. I just went to PeopleFinder.com and ya it told me what I wanted to know and I didn’t have to pay anything. although some sites will give you some info while the rest you have to pay for but it should tell you where he is/might be without you having to pay for it

sorry if this wasn’t helpful

jazlovestoskate, The person who asked the question wants to find their OWN father. :) Having his or her dna tested will only work if his or her father is in the database (as in, was arrested, and samples were taken). The person asking the question wont be able to find anything out that way unless they receive a court order, becasue the father didn’t voluntarily submit to a dna test. I know you just misread the question; the only reason I went into such detail about why that wouldn’t work, was so the person who asked the question wouldn’t think they could just go to the police station and try to track down a similar dna sample from the database. :)
