heres some helpfull information about the two kinds of things you can use to absorb the mentral flow. if your just starting out pads would be the better and easier option

pads, these are soft pillow like things you put on the bottom of your underwear so when your period leaks out it all goes onto the pad. there are different sizes of pads as well pads are easy to use because you just stick them to your underwear you need to change them every 4 hours or when there about half full you cant go swimming with a pad on, because it absorbs all the water and your period will probably end up in the pool/beach because the pad cant absorb it pads are easy for beginners to start out with and you can sleep with them in

tampons these are little lipstick sized things you stick up your vagina they can never get lost in there because theres a tiny hole inside you that keeps them from going up any further occasionaly a tampon string might brake, in that case try to get it out with your fingers or if you cant see a doctor asap tampons are a bit more difficult to use, they require more effort to put in as well you can go swimming with a tampon because water wont really get up your vagina tampons have been associated with toxic shock syndrome (tss) this can be fatal, and can be caused by you not washing your hands ,from the tampon flaking (breaking apart) inside you or from using a larger one than you need. tss is extremley rare though you need to change tampons every 4 hours and you should NEVER sleep with a tampon in

there are many pad and tampon companies that have helpful websites to help you learn more about there products and how to use them, as well as other information about them. libra is a good brand with a good website and learn a little more on tss (you can google it) if you plan to use tampons

oh yeah toxic shock also isn’t a disease it’s an infection maybe you should know what your talking about if your going to try and answer a question

Answer #3

ok you can’t get toxic syndrome from sleeping with a tampon in. you’d have to leave it in for a long time for that, as in weeks. have you tried sitting on the toilet when you put them in that helped me. also it felt a bit uncumfy and wierd the first couple of months I used them.

Answer #4

I use pads and prefer them over tampons. I put a tampon on in like 3 weeks ago and it was uncomfertable ! so I just stuck with pads and pads are good too cause your period will be over faster cause its coming out, unlike a tampon where its shoved up there waiting for like 7 hours lol. but if I have to wear a tampon I will if I were you stick with pads for a bit then you could try a tampon again

Answer #5

You can go a class at a hospital and they answer every question you have. They really helped me, although I haven’t started my period yet. You can also go to a teacher or family member that you trust. By the way… use a pad first-before you try to use a tampon.

Answer #6

use pads till you r use ta periods… simple as… tampons feel like you got sumat stuk up your fan*y all that :) lmao…

Answer #7

If you don’t feel comfortable with tampons, use pads. I personally, prefer them as you don’t have to change them as often. And I feel a lot more comfortable using them as they just lay in your underwear. NEVER sleep with a tampon in! This is very important! You can get a disease called Toxic Shock Syndrome. Always use a pad to sleep in.

U do not have to leave a tampon in for weeks to develop TSS, but you should not sleep in one—read the information in the box and it will tell you info regarding TSS. The longer it is left in w/out changing the more the risk. As for putting them in. I always found it easiest to stand and bend at the knees, though I could do it sitting as well. Standing with your knees apart, and knees slightly bent place it in until the inserter is all the way In (when your fingerts holding the end are touching the outer part of your vagina) then using whichever finger you choose–I always used my dominant pointer finger—push the outer part of the tampon (the plunger) all the way down until both parts of the plunger and applicator are together (while pushing the plunger in-hold the other part with two fingers to keep it from going further into the vagina). Once the two pieces are together pull the entire thing out. It should be firmly in place, if it seems a little too far out, you can use your finger and push it in a little further until it feels more comfy. It will feel kinda weird the first coupla times you use them. And take a couple of mths to get entirely comfortable but they are wonderful for the summer mths. you will never have to sklp out on swimming when you wear tampons. But, when swimming you will have to change a little more frequently as some water from the pool does seep into the vagina and fills the tampon up faster. And you will know when it is filled with water (or blood if your flow is heavy) it will feel like its trying to slide out or part may actually be protruding ever so slightly from the vagina and feels uncomfortable when sitting. No big—just change into a new one! ( : Try not to take one out directly after inserting it, as it will not have had time to absorb anything and taking it out dry not only hurts, but can causes scrapes and tears inside which can increase your risk of TSS. Change them as often as needed, but never wear one longer than 8 hrs—thus do not sleep in a tampon, use a pad. Hope this helped!!
