How do I de-stress?

hi, lately I’ve been really stressed out and now its starting to affect my health. I barely eat and I throw up at least once a week, I also cant sleep. I am NOT pregnant. :) My friends and boyfriend both think it stress, and I agree. A lot is going on. I’ve tried reading and just resting, but I still feel the same. I want to know some ways to relax or some hobbies that might get my mind off things. I really need this! pls help!

I always punch a pillow when I feel stress, I’m not usually one to deal with stress but when it happens I need a minute to cool off and try to realize what I’m doing is not good for me, my friends, my family, and my health.

Avoid putting yourself in stressful situations, if you can’t avoid it. Have someone help you cope with it. Try to take the situation step by step and work out your solution in a calm relaxed manner. Give yourself a break here and there, even if its only for a few minutes.

Try to avoid going to extremes about things. While certain things you might not like, there isn’t a need to go all out on these things. Just say yo don’t like it and thats that. Instead of raging at something, just simply be angry at it.

If your having problems (which is quite obvious) then find solutions one at a time. Overwhelming yourself with problems will not help you whatsoever. Keep calm and ask for help or just someone to be with you to stay calm. Work on your problems one at a time okay.

If a situation stresses you out, try to get another perspective of that situation and compare it too how you reacted towards it. This might help lessen your reaction to the situation and overall, help you cope with being stressed.

Take control of the situation, look at the situation and see if you can manage it on your own. Try to find what you can control and work on controlling the other aspects of it. You can also try looking up some relaxation techniques. Meditation and breathing techniques have been well proven to have an effect on how you deal with stress. You can also try practicing on how to clear your thoughts and stay calm.

I know exactly how you feel. When I started high school I became so stressed out I didn’t sleep for weeks and my mom used to call me her baby-vampire. I hardly ate, slept, went outside, or even talked. I locked myself up in my room and just layed there trying to fall asleep, and it was like a complete cycle everyday… go to school, come home, do homework(sometimes), and lock myself in my room. I found out that listening to music really helped me… bands like Breaking Benjamin, Nickleback, and Simple Plan really helped. Simple Plan has songs everybody can relate to, my favorite ones are…Perfect, Crazy, Everytime, Untitled. I think that if you take one day to listen to some good music you might be able to… I guess you can say… breathe. I hope that this helped you, because it worked for me. =D

I’ll make this simple. listen to some nice soft music, drink some hot tea (mint is great), meditate alone, or write some poetry.

Read translated unless you can read the original German Romantic poetry, plays of Schiller, or Russian classical short stories of Anton Chekhov and Leo Tolstoy, the Bible from cover to cover, read Oriental philosophy or Greek philosophy, and try Hindu/Buddhist deep-breathing techniques, also read about military campaigns contemporary or historical, and listen to classical music such as Mozart´s symphonies, or Ave Maria of Schubert
