how do I convince my mom t let me shop at hot topic?

clothes are clothes and its not like you’re joining a cult or doing anything drastically insane-or are you? O.o just kidding but just remind them that they’re just a coverup for your body and whatnot-just say anything convincing you can think of ;) if other people decide to judge you on what you wear then that’s THEIR problem, not yours

Hey, just tell them it’s just a style! I would say, “Mom, Dad, I’m not going to turn into a freak or anything, I just like the different style the clothes there are. Theres lots of clothes to choose from once you actually go in and look around.” Or something along those lines anyway. I go there for a lot of my clothes, and I don’t look like a creep. I try to balance it out (lol I hope you get what I mean) like, I will put on a band t-shirt with some regular blue jeans. Kinda like I don’t want everything to look too dramatic, including the hair, and makeup. Or another day I’ll put on some skinny jeans, and I’ll wear a cute top that I got somewhere else. And I know some of the clothes there may look a bit, umm overwhelming in terms of the darkness and what not, but that also has to do with your parents. They grew up in a different time and probably wore completley different things. So yeah I would just try that and maybe even ask them to go in and look. I know there are some rather odd things in there lol, but not all of the clothes are and tell them it’s not like you’re going to buy the rainbow tutus and the corset with the big black boots. :) Just tell them that.
