Each area has its own needs, requirements, and languages. You need to pick one before you can find out about any “free” tutorials.

Game programming is the easiest one to find tutorials for.

I did a Google search for “game programming tutorials” and found several very good and free places to go. I would suggest starting there. Since many of the sites list software programs to help you become a game maker, you can see what the system requirements are to see if you need to upgrade your system or not.
