How can I take care of my turtles??

I bought new tortoises… I neeeddd help !! They’re tiny, they live in water but can live outside aswell

Answer #1

I had two of those, and I had them in a fairly big aquarium, half full of water. I used rocks (remember to wash them first) to build two platforms in the aquarium so they could get in and out of the water as they wanted to. Remember to use rocks that are square or have flat sides, so they don’t ramble around at the bottom, because the animals get strong when they get bigger, and you definately don’t want them to breake the glass in the aquarium :-) I also tried to put a sucker fish in there to get rid of all the ageas and stuff, but they ate it. (the fish).

They make the water kind of messy, and if you don’t change it fairly often, it’ll get smelly. And if you take them outside, they’ll “run” for shadow or a place to hide right away, so keep an eye on them. They can actually move pretty fast when they want to.

I have had 5 pet turtles and they have lived. Just feed them 2 times a day or if you go on vacation buy long lasting food cubes. Clean the cage 1 to 2 times a week with special tools you can get at a pet store, Walmart, or even Target sometimes!

Answer #3

Don’t expose them to too much sun or heat. They’ll die.Mine did so!

Answer #4

First off, tortoises live on land only. Turtles and terrapins live on land or in water. You need to know what species of turtle you bought…they should have told you when you bought it..if not, give them a call for the info. Once you have this info, you may also ask them for advice on food and care or go on google and type in the name of the specific type of turtles you have. I had an African desert tortoise for 7 years and have a alligator turtle now.
