How Can I Sell My Idea?

hi, I’m 19years old, and I don’t know anything about business but today I was playing with my dog and thought some idea, I want to make this toy for a dog, I cant tell you what it is, but I have an idea that might dogs gonna love to play with,

but I don’t know what to do, like , should I call some big animal company and say I have an idea about toys? I don’t know anything,,, please help me what I have to do,

I’m not too sure on the procedures, but I think you should make a prototype of the toy, get it patented/copyrighted, and THEN approach companies who might buy the idea off you. You don’t want them to steal your idea, do you? ;)

It’s most likely already been thought of or tried. Also, getting your idea into production (if by some unlikely force someone bought into it) would take YEARS.

Its probably better to just know its a good idea in theory, and forget about it.
