How can I retrieve this from my Computer, please?

My Computer was running so slowly that it took forever to come up to speed. I had downloaded some updates yesterday morning and these had seemed to slow the computer down. So I decided to do a System Restore to take the Computer back to early yesterday morning. Unfortunately, I miscalculated and took the System Restore back too far–back before I downloaded the latest version of the Internet Security package fitted.

I did another System Restore to take the Computer up to yesterday morning but, unfortunately it looks like I may have lost the Security package. I attempted to install the original package (from 2009) but was unsuccessful. I got a message telling me that the new package is still active.

Is this possible? As far as I can see the Security Package is no longer working.

How could I retrieve the files? I don’t wish to purchase another package as they are very expensive here in Australia.

By the way, the Computer is now working at lightning speed.

Hello, Mr. Clawjaw: I am using Trend Micro Internet Security Pro. I just renewed for another year two weeks ago. I am using Windows Vista. I have the serial key here in front of me. How do I unlock, please?

Thank you,

Mr. Gramophone.

Greetings! If you aren’t sure that your security is working, download MS Security Essentials and install it. It is a Microsoft product, is free, and gets pretty good reviews. I’m putting it on a lot of PCs lately and everyone seems happy with it. Go to http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/ Download and install. Once finished, check the add/remove programs in Control Panel (Win XP) or the equivalent (Win Vista/7) and if you find the Trend software, uninstall it. Have fun!

Thank you, gentlemen, for all the advice you have given me. I contacted Trend in Australia and was given all the instructions to uninstall the Trend files and re-install them. The computer is now fully protected again! Thank you
