How can I make an artistic mannequin?

Hi guys, I am making a mannequin for my yr 12 art major but am needing some input on what materials to make it out of, and also materials to design it with. It needs to be light, as it is going to hang from strings like a puppet. Any input on what to make it out of or what will be light enough? Has anyone tried anything like this before, or have any photos of homemade ones? Thanks! X x x

Uhmm I’ve made something similar but it wasn’t a mannequin…

It was a whale xD LOL

But I used styrofoam (took an knife and cut it to the right shape, split it in half and hollowed out the inside to make it lighter), and covered it with a very light thin sheet and drew on that with fabric markers.
