Some good, funny materiel and give it a go at local comedy clubs or any venue so you’re ‘out there’ to progress and possibly get discovered…I wish you every success !!

How can you make it big as a stand-up comedian? I think you should try your material with friends and see how they react. If you’re quick and keep the jokes rolling you should be fine. If your friends are rolling on the floor then you do have what it takes. If they look at you like you don’t make sense then I say it isn’t for you.:) Good Luck

It’s all in the delivery - If someone asks me how I am I’ll say “I’m not sure –(short pause)— my wife is not here to tell me”

Females will laugh at that if you say it right

I’ll go into a bar that I’ve never been in and looking around I’ll say “Looks like I got here just in time for ‘happy hour’ “ and when the beermaid tells me that they do not have a happy hour I’ll look at her with a sad face and say ‘ You mean I have to go home and get my wife?” It’s how you deliver the line. Jay Leno can not do it without explaining the joke or acting it out, Johnny Carson and Jack Benny (two of the best) delivered and then went on to the next.

Do not do a Jay Leno and make a career of death jokes. Leno is only good because everyone is just following  the other in saying he's good.

Jeff Foxworthy and Larry the cable guy are good. Bad language is only for the low life.

Look around and see humor in the things around you - We just got an electrical rate increase and I told the people that the reason for the increase is that the company is now getting the electricity from a new supplier and there are different additives in the current for more power so you will actually be using less and getting more, 

They are getting more wind turbines around here and I told them that they will have to shut down half of the wind turbines in the summer to leave wind for the rest of them.
