How can I lower my electric bill?
How can I lower my electric bill? My girl wants it near like a sauna in the apartment from the heater and it is killing my electric bill with high rates and electrical service charges. I want to conserve but I don’t want to lose any heat.
A HUGE way to quickly do this, is to change all your lightbulbs from the old incandescent lightbult to the new Compact Flourescent bulbs. They now have some “warm” colored ones which are just the same color and warmth as the old style bulbs.
I did it and my mom did it, and we save around 33% of our electric costs, if not more.
Dear materialguy, I think first you need to bye your girlfriend a heavy sweater or flannel PJs or have her pay 1/2 the bill. Then turn the heat down. If you are using electric heat you will, no doubt have high bills even with it turned down. The recommended temp. should be set at about 68 during the day and less at night. use energy efficient lights, plastic on the windows, seal all outside drafts. Tell her turning the heat down gives extra cuddling time. Sue….good luck

well I work for a very large energy company, any advise let me know, bit too long winded to offer all energy efficiency advise now lol
