How can I keep myself from thinking horrible things?
sometimes I wish really bad things. would happen to myself. as in death. car crashes. stuff like that. how do I stop these suicidal thoughts?
I have the same problem. I often think of suicide and death, but I try to distract myself and think of my friends and family I will leave.
sorry maybe I was a little harsh, I am just saying that problems like ours run very deep and often times, at least for me, my thoughts are so bad I could in no way concentrate on a book and TV shows with all of their fake perfection just add fuel to the fire.
y do that just think of the consequences of your love ones if you die, just read a book or watch tv or something
Distract yourself, call up a friend and tell them whats going on. The best way is to get it out…once you say some of these thoughts out loud they stop being so scary and horrible and you can tell yourself that they are ridiculous and brush them aside. Looking into proffessional help never hurt anyone, they can help you find the root of your problem if you really feel you need that level of help.

wow ruby way to go, that’s the kind of response that gets people to dive in front of trains. if you don’t care about peoples problems don’t comment.
I like to read books about people who are worse off than me, even if its a fantasy. but I haven’t done that in a while. I normally deal with my suicidal thoughts by talking to a close friend, if you have someone that you really trust and care about but you don’t see very often then that person is the perfect one to talk to because you don’t get that really awkward moment the next day. it really helps to vent to someone who loves you or cares about you and/or the other way around. they offer a lot of support and just the feeling of being loved helps. I really wish the best of luck to you but for the most part you’ll still get these thoughts, just not very often. =)

but you know how I get past bad times?
I say to myself that life is too short and wola its all better…
I know 4 sum it isnt so easy but if you can make yourself realize that moping over things is worse for you then you can make it work…

I am often depressed to the point of contemplating suicide and I think of my son and my parents. often I don’t feel like they love me but I know they do and ultimately they are the ones that I would hurt. I find that if I start a project to help someone and see it all the way through it usually gives me a sense of self worth and accomplishment which seems to help for a little while. talking to a person I love and trust is also usually helpful to a point. try writing it helps me immensely, music, poetry running they all help too.
