How can I have more friends, and how can I do stuff on weekends?

Okay.. so, I feel like a loser asking this but I’m out of options.. I’m in grade 9, and at the beginning of the school year, I had 2 best friends who I always hung out with out of school, but then they suddenly decided that they didn’t want to be my friends because of some stupid reason, and since then I haven’t had any friends to hang out with outside of school. I have plenty of friends that I hang out with at school, but then Friday night comes, and I’m stuck hanging out with my mom and dad at home because I have no friends that I have a close enough relationship with to hang out with. I feel like such a loser because I never do anything on the weekends, and it’s embarrassing. PLEASE, does anyone have any tips on how I can have friends that I can hang out with on the weekends? I haven’t asked any of my friends at school yet, because I am scared that they will reject me… but I’m open to almost anything!! Thanks.

I think you should just give it a try. Ask a girl (someone who you could picture yourself getting along well with) to go to the mall, or have a sleepover, you know, whatever you enjoy doing. Maybe if your outgoing, try asking someone who’s a little more shy. Most people would be surprised that people who are “shy” can reveal a whole new side if you get them alone/get to know them. Now I’m not sayin this is gonna work on your first try, but I’m sayin dont give up on yourself. Just because the first person you ask happens to be busy, probably has nothing to do with whether or not the truly want to hang out with YOU. And if they really didn’t, then hey, why would you want to be hangin out w/someone like that anyways? There are tons of people out there who are in the same situation, and really, all it’s gonna take is that first step right? And hey, don’t worry about feeling like a loser, because the only real loser is the one who is insecure enough to try and lable you that.

get a sport, like bike riding, or something, that doesnt need a team. find a local track/park or something like that. meet the people there

You are in high school, they have every possible club activity imaginable and if there isn’t there is always the option to start one. Find a teacher to help you sponsor a club of something you are interested in. Best to be the friend then to find the friend. Good luck.
