How can I get rid of my panic attacks?

I’ve been having panic attacks lately, and I usually get them when I’m really scared or nervous. Is there any way I could possibly get rid of them?

Find out what triggers them and then learn to deal with the triggers. I used to get them before and during tests and I literally had to learn how to calm myself…deep breaths..eat well beforehand etc. If they get really bad consider seeing a counselor or phyciatrist to help you deal with it.

Avoid places or situations that cause panic attacks.

When you feel one coming take lay down or sit down & take many deep breathes nice & slow. Close your eyes & relax while you continue breathing..

Please DO NOT avoid situations or places where you get panic attacks, that will definitely not help your life (and will start to create ever worse problems, believe me… counseling 101 we learn the only way to deal with a problem is by facing it, avoiding simply creates more problems the key is to have the right tools… people who have agoraphobia with panic attacks started out by avoiding places they had panic attacks, and this eventually got to a point where they didnt leave the house). You might want to consider talking to a counselor…

Wherever you are, even if you can’t lie down, you can close your eyes, count to ten or something, and take slow, deep breaths Inhale slowly, hold the breath for a count of at least 5, and then exhale slowly. Don’t pant or hyperventilate. Slow and easy does it. Talk yourself into believing it’s OK: say to yourself ‘I can do it I can do it I can do it’. (Or: ‘I’m doing fine,I’m doing fine, I’m doing fine…’)

It helps. Promise!. It once got me off a mountain pinnacle with a storm approaching and the eagles circling BELOW me.
