Answer #1

If you have windows XP. You can restart your computer and tap F8 over and over while it’s booting. You will see a selective startup screen select safe mode. Then choose administrator as the account to load or type administrator and leave the password blank to log on. Click ok to the warning. Go to start and click run, type Control Userpasswords2 then press enter a window will open, click the check box that says Users must enter a username and password to use this computer so that the box is NOT checked.

-hope this answered your question.

Answer #2

When we install Windows, it automatically creates an account “Administrator” and sets its password to blank.

1.press F8 immediately when you start your computer and choose safe mode.Or Start system and when you see Windows Welcome screen / Login screen, press Ctr+Alt+Del keys twice and it will show Classic Login box.

2.Type “Administrator” (Without quotes, Note: Do this If you do not know any other administrator user account,) in Username box and leave Password box field blank. Now press Enter and you should be able to log in Windows.

  1. Now you can reset your account password from “Control Panel -> User Accounts”.

  2. Pick an account you want to change.

  3. Change your user account to a computer administrator or create a new computer administrator account.

Same thing can be done using Safe Mode. In Safe Mode Windows will show this in-built Administrator account in Login screen.

If you unknow the admin password and can not login, you can try these methods:

Method-2

Use windows password reset disk to reset your lost password, before this you have to create a password reset disk in CD or USB Flash Drive.

When you input a incorrect password or leave it blank, click OK the system will prompt you whether to use the password reset disk, click it and then you can do follow the guiddes.

Method-3

Delete SAM files In Windows NT / 2000 / XP, system uses SAM(Security Account Manager) to manage the safety of user account.SAM uses Security Identifier to perform Account management. The Security Identifier was create with the user account, and once you delete the user account, the SID also be deleted at the same time. One SID with only one account even if the same user name created in different time will with different SID. Therefore, once an account is reconstructed, it will be given a different SID, and won’t keep the original jurisdiction. SAM perform with %System Root % system32configsam file. This file is a Windows NT / 2000 / XP user account database, all user name and password and related information can be stored in this file. Now a solution appears: We can delete SAM file, then start system, it will rebuild a clean SAM file with no password inside. However, even if you delete the SAM, some systems will start to go wrong.

If you cannot access system as administrator or have not created a password reset disk, you can use the third method. But this method is complicated that you have to boot DOS and it will make the system in risk.

Is there another simple and efficient solution to recover the password?Answer is affirmative.

Method-4

I know one of the password recovery tools is Windows Password Rescuer 3.0. This program can reset the password within several minutes, and supports all Windows versions, such as Windows 7,Windows XP, Windows server 2008/2003/2000 and Windows vista etc. But it must be booted from CD or USB Flash Drive to complete the task.I have use it successfully reset my XP admin password.

If you are a PC fledgling,Recommend you to try Method 1,2 and 4

Answer #3

A lot of methods are available to recover or reset the Windows password. The famous Ophcrack is used for recovering the password. The big disadvantage of ophcrack is the large ISO file. We need to download a file of size 500MB to recover the password. And I have tested it ever,it actually can not dispay the password as the instruction says.

However, there is also a plenty of software which can help us reset the Windows password by a bootble DVD/CD or USB driver. As those Windows password recovery software with a small ISO image file, you can save a lost of time and space to download such program. But the problem is you need operate in Dos environment, which is more suitable for PC expert.

So I thought we can simply reset or remove the password using Windows Password Rescuer program. The friendly and intuitive interface of Windows password Rescuer makes it easy to use, even for a novice
