How can I get close to the lord?

That’s a good question to ask and I’m glad you did!

Let me begin by saying I am very amazed by your sincerity! It’s very hard to sometimes see the truth and that’s what you’ve done.

If you want to get closer to God, you need to be sincere like this, and always.

Although God knows that you’re having these problems, when you tell Him them yourself, He willingly listens to you because you came to Him and told him.

Try reading the Gospel according to John! It’s very interesting because it goes in depth about Jesus’ miracles.

Actually, I’m also reading John if need someone to read along with you.

I’m 17 years old so I kind of understand what you mean by when church is boring! This means you might not be understanding what the Pastor is talking about! That’s okay, just ask someone like your Grandma or parents or friends who might understand better. I’m sure they can help!

If you also want to try some cool christian songs, go on youtube and enter “breathe” by Micheal W smith. It is really very touching and as you are singing along, sing it from the depths of your heart. I promise you, you will feel the Holy Spirit all over you!

Well sex is perfectly natural, or why else would you be here? Suppressing your natural instincts is an extremely unhealthy thing to do. It’s curious how these man made religions have such a preoccupation with sex.

I kinda agree with slavaim but its okay if you believe what you do. just know that animals who I heard in the bible it says are god’s creatures too, just know that they have sex too mainly because they’re not smart enough to read the bible. ha you think animals get married before sex? no =D just relax and find someone you love and you can even go to church with them!

My fav verse that helps me personally is Hebrews10:26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God

You have a close relationship with God by abiding in Him. It’s a relationship, and the only way it grows stronger is by spending time with Him. Also, if church seems boring, consiter trying another church. Or something that always works for me is getting a seat in the front row, you’ll be more engaged in the teaching and gain more from it. Know too, that as you walk and grow in the lord things will start to make more sense. You may not be where you need to be, but you’re where your supposed to be.

The best way to get close to Jesus is to practice what he preaches. I find that I feel closest to God when I am doing something good for others. Volunteer work is always a good idea, and you might want to see if your church has any events you can help out at, like picnincs or even just helping to fold bulletins. Alter-serving is a great way to get more involved in the mass, you might want to ask about that too. Praying every day is also good, just talking to God whichever way you feel most comfortable. As for the urge to have sex or do other things you shouldn’t, that’s completely normal and human. Ask God to help you exercise self-control. You might want to take a vow of chastity or get a purity ring to always remind you of your promise. Good for you for taking the initiative to get close to God! Good luck and God bless! :)

once a sinner find faith in God or Jesus our savior,he or she cant get any closer to God.Faith is the begging point to grow in grace and wisdom in the God that created heaven and earth.Hebrews 11:1 reads faith is the substance of things hoped for,the evidence of things not seen.If you want to get close to God then blieve he is within you,how much closer can you get?

I find joy when I read the bible. So maybe you could try that. If you look in the right places there are so really interesting things in the bible that God has to say to you and other things he has to say to you about life. Pray to God that he will help you get closer to him and pray and ask him to get all of the bad desires out of your heart. If you listen closely he will answer your prayer in some way. I’ve prayed to the Lord before and I read the bible and he actually talked to me through the bible. My friend was moving schools and I was SOO sad so I asked God to give me comfort and talk to me in some way and I read the bible one day, just opened the bible randomly, and there I read something I will never forget. I felt amazed! It was like he was actually talking to ME!! I was so comforted and happy after I read that verse! It made me come closer to God and realize that he does care about me and will help me through tough situations. I’m 12 now and I will always remember that and it will help me durring other tough times to remember to ask and pray to Him to help me. I hope you find God because I know He’s there. God Bless.
