How can I convice my parents to let me go out with friends?

Okay, so I’m a 16 year old teenager who is turning 17 this coming June 22nd. All my life, I’ve always been at home studying my ass off because my parents said so. I do everything they tell me to do like chores and taking care of my 2 younger sisters! So far, I haven’t let them down. I always show them good reports. Just recently, I even got invited to the National Society of High School Scholars! It’s normal for teenagers to go out at least once in a while right? But for me… I NEVER even went to the movies with a group of friends before! And I’ve been to 1 party in my life which was this January! I really want to know how yo get out more… at least once in a while! I really don’t know what to do. I even told them that I obey their every command but it seems like it never works. Please help me.

*Note: I live above the influence. I never do drugs or got drunk off of alcohol.

Answer #3

Yeah, well when you turn 17 you have got to tell them that you need some time off…

Let them know what you wrote on here, by that I mean tell them how you feel, tell tham all that you have done and that you desrve a time off and something to have fun and all.

hi, I have exactly the same problem. I told my parents that going out once in a while gives me influence and all that junk. but what REALLY worked was telling them that if I dont go out much I am going to become really clingy and I wont be able to fend 4 myslef. tell them gently that if you dont have freedom you dont really have a life. ask to go out 4 a couple of hours once a week and maybe they will let you go out. plus, you sound like you really deserve time off. well done with your scholarship and all ;)

Answer #5

tell your parents about all the good things you do and that you deserve a reward you are old enough to be able to go out with friends now and you deserve a reward when you do something good if parents dont reward there children when they do something good, there kid has nothing to look forward to and gradually they will stop being a good kid and/or getting good grades because there not getting anything in returne they do all that hard work and get nothing in return and thats not fair so its only fair that when you do good, you get rewarded for it tell your parents that
