How can apartments and reality deny me because of felonies?

I have a few felonies from about 2 years ago and im a single mom trying to find a place for us to live but no place will rent to me because I have felonies isnt that discrimination?

If your felony involves Violence, Sex or Drugs they have every right to deny you. Instead of letting them find this information out in the criminal background check that most apartments now do; come clean up front even writing a letter explaining in your words the circumstance of the conviction. This way you come across as honest, upfront and a changed person from any felony conviction. This can really help in getting an apartment. Also, a lot of slum apartments don;t do criminal background checks and only worried about credit and getting money you can look into those as well.

Uh discrimination based on a criminal basis? Well that might be discrimination, but you’re not protected by the law on that…
