I agree that it may have been the shampoo. Try going to the same salon and ask the lady what she put in your hair, or ask them what they would recommend for curly hair.

Maybe it has to do with the shampoo and what not she used at the salon compared to what you are using at home? Plus, in my experience, hair dressers always do an amazing job with hair. Whenever I go to the shop to get my hair done, I can never get it to look the same.

Perhaps she really moisturized your hair. A thick, rich conditioner can really bring out the curls and waves in someone. And perhaps she used a curl enhancer/activator, and scrunched it in to encourage curl formation. I recommend going back and asking her!
