How baseball became the national past time?

The Idea The o’ so famous leagues Baseball began as many different varieties. Some of the names might have been different like New York Ball or City Ball but all the games were close to being the same thing. This little sport would be played in feilds, sand lots or even praires. Back in 1840 the people who would play baseball would use squred feilds with stakes as bases in each corner of the field. Soon they were replaced by stones because of injury and soon after that into bags of sand and dirt. Soon anough these sacks became known as bases and that is how baseball got it’s name. In 1856 baseball became a big sport. To start off baseball’s soon to be America’s past time sport the National League was formed. But before creating a new world wide sport they had to spice it up a little. The change was a mager one. The old square field had to be switched to a new dimand shaped field so there would be more room to play in.The first clubs to play in the national league were: Boston, Hartford, Philadelphia, New York City, St. Louis, Chicago, Cincinnati, and Louisville. These teams would at the time play againts them selves on till the American League was formed. The first teams in this league were: Chicago, Milwaukee, Cleveland, Detroit, Washington, Philadelphia, Boston, and Baltimore. Baseball Now Now adays baseball has the two leagus, American and National. American has 14 teams, they are Red Sox, Yankees, Blue Jays, Orioles, Devil Rays, Tigers, Royals, Angels, Rangers, Indians, Mariners, White Sox, Twins, and the Athletics. In the National league there are 16 teams which are the Braves, Expos, Rockies, Mets, Marlins, Phillies, Cubs, Cardnals, Pirates, Astros, Reds, Dimandbacks, Dodgers, Giants, Padres, Brewers. During the season the teams only play the teams in their leagues but in some seasons the teams play the teams in the national league that are in their division. There are eastern, western, and central divisions. They call this inter-league-play. So if you were on the Boston Red Sox (who are in the American eastern division)then the teams in the National league eastern division would play you in inter-league-play. That usally only happens in the middle of the season. Not in the beginning or the end of it. Baseball will probebly last a very long time since it is ,of course, the one and only America’s past time.
