3 questions about belly button ring?

I’m thinking about getting my belly button pierced. But I have some questions about it:

  1. how much will it hurt? I’m afraid of some thing shooting through me if it hurts…
  2. how long does the healing takes? I dont want to go on holiday in summer ans have à red itching spot on my belly or something…
  3. how to convince my folks to go let me have one?

  1. I was 14ish when I got mine done, and it hurt very very much. I seem to have a low pain tolerance though. Most of my friends have theirs done and none of them thought it hurt. Some didn’t even feel it. I t really depends on what sort of pain tolerance you have. But its only like 3 seconds of pain.

  2. My healing took ages. I had a lot of complications, it got badly infected and it hurt a lot. But again, my friends’ healing times all varied. Some healed fine, others it took a few weeks, months for some, and mine took about a year. In fact it still hurts a bit sometimes, I’ve had it done for about 3 years.

  3. This is a hard one, Personally, I just went on and on and on about it so my mom gave in. Also she knew that most of my friends had it done too. If they really won’t let you, then its not the end of the world.

Honestly, It hurts differently for every single person. If mine closed up I would not get it done again purely because of all the drama that went with it, also the extra money for antibiotics and cream when it got infected. If I could be guaranteed a fast healing, painless procedure, then I would do it again any day. But unfortunately nobody knows how much it will hurt or how fast it will heal. Its all completely different for every person.

  1. I would say it doesn’t hurt much. But it does feel strange, but you’ll get over it ;)
  2. I used bactine spray right after I got it done and all day everyday pretty much into the bottle ran out 3-4 months it numbs it out while cleaning it. Make sure you don’t bump it against anything because that hurts just intill it’s healed. So no horse playing around. 3.no clue

  1. For me it didn’t hurt at all. But it all depends on your pain tolerence.
  2. Mine only took a few weeks, usually it takes about 2/3 months. I got mine done in January ( A few days after my 13th birthday) and I have changed mine about four times already, and no infection.
  3. Thats hard. It took a while to convince my parents. I just told them that if I got it done, I wouldn’t talk about piercings anymore with them untill I was 16. They agreed, and let me get it done.

Pinch yourself where you want peirced for a couple seconds. If you can handle that, you can handle the pain. Keep it very clean, use bactine like lillith99 said, great stuff and doesnt dry out your skin like rubbing alcohol, dont use it. It’ll be looking good within a couple weeks, maybe a little sore for a month or two. I did it anyway, didn’t tell mom. One day she suspected it, had me lift my shirt, told me to take it out, which I did. Only to later put it back in, couple weeks later, mom asked to see if I put it back in out of the blue at which point we had a talk about it and she said, well since you already did it…
