If you havn’t got the music anywhere else, like on an ipod, then your chances have slimmed by heaps. Extraordinary amounts.

What went wrong with your old computer? If the hard drive is fine (which it may very well be) open up your computer, ground yourself and keep touching the power supply to avoid static damage and literally unplug the hard drivve and pout it in the new computer. You can then transfer the songs from hard drive 1 to the new one.

The hard drive is a box like thing with cables coming out of it at the front of your computer usually below the cd/dvd drives.

You can make it and all you need is a three party utility which I recommend Aniosoft ibackup. It enables you to transfer iPod’s music and other content to any storage device and iTunes as well. And both the backup in the storage device can be recovered and restored with no any change and no any risk. And the data in the iTunes is quite in accord with the iPod’s data including its playlists, rating and etc. So in your case, you can make a music transfer from your iPod to the iTunes in your new computer with this tool and also make a backup for the ipod’s content somewhere in your new computer as well in case of the similiar failure again. There is a note that needs your attention, you have to turn off the auto sync of the iTunes before you can make this transfer. for your convenience,I’ll add the links here: http://www.aniosoft.com good luck to you.

If all your songs are still on your iPod, you can get them onto your new computer. When I changed my computer, I used MediaWidget to move all library files from my iPod Touch onto my new computer http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/MediaWidget.htm

It can transfer all iPod content to the iTunes on your different computer, including iPod music, movies, playlists, videos, podcasts, ratings, last played, and more.

Now all files are on your new computer and iTunes, you can sync your iPod with it smoothly without deleting any files.

Just free download it to try.
