Hospitalized on purpose?

My friend randomly came up to me and appologized a few days ago. I had no idea what for. I asked her and all she said was “sorry”. I asked her again today and she said that she thought I would be angry with her if she ended up dead or in hospital because she did something to herself.

The thought crossed my mind that maybe she’s just doing it for attention, but it doesn’t sound like her to do that kind of thing for attention, but I can see no reason for her to want to hurt herself…

What do I do?

Don’t ever think someone is doing it for attention. If you cut your self you would know, it’s hard trying to hide it and it hurts. No one would want to put themselfs threw that.

Help her or make sure she gets help. don’t leave her

She is asking for attention because something is wrong… get her the help she is asking for… Talk to a counselor or something, yeah you risk her being mad at you, but that is a 1000 times better than her ending up dead and you regretting not doing anything

never ignore, joking or serious threats of self harm or suicide, it must really be hurting her to tell someone else

help her and make her feel like she is not alone. she might be depresed
