Homecoming hairstyle, how do I do a loose updo or bun?

Okayy so theres this pic on google when you type in prom updos and its black and white and its of like a loose bun (sorry I just included that for anyone who might have seen it) but its a low bun and the top is like all poofy and kinda like messy and its not very hairspray-e haha half of these arent even words sorry haha but if you could give me some tips on how to do it or if you know what pic im talking about like step by step directionts haha that would be great!! Thank you sooo much!!!

I’m pretty sure I know what picture you mean, the chick is facing to the left, with her head to the camera, yes I think it’s GORGEOUS! not to full-on, but it’s still glam, with a simple or decorative dress. It looks like she has highlights, so if you want the soft, hanging hair look, then I’d suggest slightly lighter-than-your-original-colour highlights

and yes, NO HAIRSPRAY! just freshly wash your hair, and blow dry it from all-angles. Might need a few pins or so, to keep parts of the front in place (I’m guessing you’ll need shorter bits of hair hanging from the front, but long enough to tuck behind the ear)

and for the bun part, just use 1 hair-tye and lots of hidden clips that blend to your hair colour.
