Advice for starting high school?

I’m starting high school in the fall, please if you have any advice I’d love to hear because I’m super scared. will I be able to keep my grades up and have a social life?? your advice is highly appreciated:)

high school is only scary because your going into the unknown. middle school, you didn’t really care then. but now you’re a teenager, peers and social life seem wa-hay more important than when you were 6!

and only you can determine if you can keep your grades up. if you have good grades already you will be aware that you don’t wake up with that knowledge (a little knowledge fairy doesn’t come to your room and night and just ‘pop’ that information in!) grades need to be worked at, and you get out what you put in!

my only advise if, choice your friends wisely. when you go t high school. people have a tendency to stick in groups throughout the duration. please just make sure the people you choice are going to be a good influence and whom you can trust, rather than most popular. popularity means NOTHING when you get out into the world, the only thing that has any value when you leave school or apply for college / uni is your education…

when you get older people are admired for the achievments far more than for their social life…

just relax. I can assure you, everyone is as worried as you, just understand that people deal with that worry in different ways…and may simply appear to be ‘cool’ or ‘not scared’

I was like the same way. the upper classmen dont pick on you as much as you would think…

but they do make good friends… if your in like the school band or a choir, you’ll definatley make awesome friends, including upper classmen.

I kept the same grades, so its no worse than middle school

good luck in high school

highschool is not as bad as everyone says it is. people only say scary sh*t to scare you. and of course you can have good grades and still have a social life. hang out with your friends during the day and just start your homework at like 7. just chill nothing really changes when you transfer to highschool you just have older and more kids.

Dont WORRY! Just smile and be yourself, and get involved in everything you can! I’ve been to 10 schools in the last 5 years (a lot I know) and thatsmy advice elder students are really nice, either that or they just ignore you completely lol I’ve never seen anyone getting picked on or made fun of ect by elder students because they either remember what it was like to be young and scared and feel sympathetic towards you (im one of those elder students now and I know I feel that way!) or they remember but dont really care, they move on lol. Just “Be happy Dont worry” lol, and remember evyone else is just as scared as you! hehe

ok..@ our school [I was a freshmen last fall..going to be a soph.] no one really did anything to get you frightened…at the most it was just before homecoming in oct. and after that it was nothing…[&even before homecoming it wasn’t bad..]so dont’ get scared…if you r scared they’ll know and they’ll go after u…play it cool and it’ll all go wonderfully…good luck!..[&yea not much changes..u will be able to keep the grades up…just don’t let it slip away..it is hard to get back up from grade plumps…but it also depends a lot on the high school..
