I bought my puppy small care bear stuffed toys and she loves them.I also got her a few dental ropes. You should also know that your puppy needs her teeth brushed w/puppy toothpaste and toothbrush. I got mine March 21 and she was only 10 weeks old and the second day I had her she totally came around. I don’t know why your puppy isn’t really playful b/c mine is hyper active and plays ALL DAY.I had a huge bear from valentines day and she drags it all over the house and she only weighs about 31/2 lbs.(She is a yorkie mix)so you could get your puppy any safe stuffed toy really. You should really try to get Kirkland signature brand dog food too. I bought breed specific books and puppy training books and health books. It might cost a bit but it’s worth it.Just google the breed your pup is and type in info after the breed name it works : ) Have FUN w/the pup.

Take the pup to the vet for a wellness check and her shots…of ALL things, don’t skimp on those…call around to the vets and find the most inexpensive place to take her for her innoculations…they DO vary in price.

Tie a couple knots in an old sock, lots of pups like to play tug with those…small balls (small enough to fit into her mouth, but too big to swallow)…Pick toys with lots of variation of texture, shape and size…You may have to encourage her to play, by playing with her for a while…she probably hasn’t a clue about playing alone…

STAY AWAY from any packaged treats or soft food that are Walmart’s brand (no Old Roy stuff) …nearly all of it was pulled by the FDA during the China thing …Actually, with a young pup, you can “treat” them just by giving them a kibble of their food for a reward…I you have a Costco card…buy Kirland Puppy Food, it’s rated very high, way higher than Purina, and you get 40 lbs for $20 or so…

Good luck with your new “baby”…you sound like you’ll be an excellent “mom”…:)

I can’t tell you anything about the shots. But puppies do get car sick because they aren’t used to the movements, and tend to want to move around, look around really quickly, and then they get sick, but not all puppies do. She is calm because she is new, slightly confused, and nervous. Give her a while (like half a year at the least) and she’ll open up. Don’t worry too much, you haven’t had her too long. Keep petting her, playing with her, take her for walks, let her meet other dogs, and remember to discipline her.

When I first got my puppy(maltese) she wasn’t very playful either. I think you just have to let your puppy get used to the house and she’ll come around. I had a big stuffed animal dog and my puppy took around the whole house with her and she’s 5 pounds. My puppy hates being in the car. She shakes a lot and will get sick if it’s a long car ride. I’m not sure about the price of shots.

You can buy the shots at a farm store if you know someone who can give it. Its onlly 6 dollars for the shot. My puppys liked playing with things that are soft and they can drag and run with I baught a cheap monkey with the velcro on the hands and feet. Some puppys arent playful. I always had luck with the bacon snacks my dogs and puppys loved them they are 1.97 at wal-mart. I always fed my dogs purina puppy chow. It has the most vitiamins for the price.

Puppies sleep allot, so don’t mistake sleepiness for your puppy being boring. But it just depends on their personality, I have a dog and she never plays with me. She won’t chase a ball to save her life, she wants to be human or something. I have bought so many toys for her to get her to play, but it’s just not in her. She won’t even chew on a bone. She likes to run run run run run and walk. And she likes to be dressed up and she likes to watch the hamsters lol

Allot of the playing we do with our dogs is related to their instinct to hunt. Tug O War, Chasing things.. If the dog doesn’t have that aggressiveness in them it’s not really a bad thing.
