How do I stop PMT?

how do I stop pmt? I get it really bad and I’ve tried herbal stuff but it dont work and its gettin in the way of everything because I just cant go out!!!

Dear chloe88, IF you are speaking of Pre-Menstrual Syndrome then there are several things you can do. I have suffered with it over 30 years. Keep close track of when you will begin your period, several days before take some ibuprofen a few times a day for swelling and pain. Get out and so something rather strenuous; this raises the your natural pain relievers in the body and one thing that really helps. Avoid salt and caffeine and drink lots of fluids. Yes, it can get in the way of everything and you need to control your mood swings with it. Seeing a doctor for a stronger medication for some women is a must. Since you may be irritable, avoid people…it isn’t’ their fault and it is your responsibility to know how to control your temperament. It’s a really tough way to go through life and I was told to take the pill: didn’t work, to have a child; didn’t work. But today there are some wonderful medications to help. No need to suffer so much. I found no matter what you are prescribed or what medications you take you still need to be in check of your moods. Sue…good luck

The only time I don’t get PMT is when I’ve been exercising a lot. I don’t know how it helps but if I’ve done lots of climbing or sports in the week I should have PMT, I don’t seem to have any symptoms. Hope this helps.

PS - PMT is PMS in US English! Have I used enough initials?
