Hurts when I pee after having sex

Help, I am 14 years old and I had sex 3 days ago. I have started to notice that it hurts when I pee and its coming out in small amounts. I have now noticed that there is blood in my pee too. I am really scared that im pregnant. Is that a possibility?

You may have cystitis as alicee has said. It is not “basically a water infection” it is a weak form of a Urinary Tract Infection caused by bacteria in the urinary tract. It causes increased frequency and urgency of urination but often only tiny amounts will come out and the key is a burning/itchy feeling when/after urinating and sometimes causes blood in the urine, abdominal pains and if it is a full-blown UTI will also give you a fever and generally feeling very unwell. It often does occur after having sex (epescially if it was a new partner, the first time or unusually energetic) and usually about 2-3 days later the symptoms start. You can get cystitis relief from some chemist and supermarkets which is usually a powder (and really does not taste good!) which you put in water. If this doesn’t work then book and appointment with the doctor to clear it up with antibiotics. To help prevent again make sure you wipe front to back, drinking cranberry juice helps as it makes the urinary tract “slippery” so bacteria can not hold on. Also make sure you wash well everyday with water or something that doesn’t interfer with your natural pH like Femfresh. Also if you’re worried about pregnancy I’m assuming you didn’t use contraception so remember to use something next time! Consider going on something like the contraceptive pill but remember this doesn’t protect you from STIs. Also you need to get checked out for STIs…gonorrhea can also cause you’re symptoms. Hope this helps x

you may also have a uti(urinary tract infection). its common. It happens frequently with women as it is very easy for that area to get infected. especially if not cleaned after sex. its just a small infection and can possibly treated at home if there isn’t too much pain. just drink a lot of cranberry juice and there are two things you can take to make it better, cranberry pills (just concentrated cranberries it helps your overall urinary health and speeds up the healing process) and azo (this just helps relieve the pain temporarily whilst you heal). if these don’t clear things up in about a week you should go see a doctor so they can perscribe you an antibiotic for you. it just means the bacteria is to strong for simple household remedies. its okay. don’t worry. uti’s aren’t directly related to sex just sex is one common cause of them. you have dr patient confidentiality and you can just tell your mom or dad that it hurts when you go to the bathroom. they’ll get you a dr appointment. its nothing to worry about too much. hope I helped!
