How or when can I move out?

Hi, I am 17 about to turn 18 in 2 months… I was adopted when I was younger and still have contact with my real mother… well I want to move out and in with her…. my father (the one who adopted me) is always yelling at me and never has showed me any support in anything I ever do and if I want to go out.. he wants me home by 9:30 barely ever 10…. I’m almost an adult and he treats me like a kid… I have all A’s and a good person…. never getting into trouble… I have a job to help support myself… Why should I let him verbally abuse me??… last night he said I looked like a tramp in my prom dress.. and let me tell you I don’t like showing off my chest.. and compared to a lot of sluttly dresses mine is nice.. I even asked my teachers what they thought about it my dress and they like it… anyways… in the state of IL … you can’t move out until your 18… I don’t want to wait that long… is there any other way around it… besides being emancipated? Because they will NOT let me leave… I’m just tired of them stopping my self-esteem to the floor… can anyone help me???

I ASK you to WAIT till you are 18. You have time enought to build up your independent life, your step parents can be rough to you NOW, but if you are healty and nice looking you may say thanks not only to your real parents and God, but also to them. Try to see everything with humor, and smile at that this situation will end soon, in in two months. You will not loose anything, believe me, all the good and bad situations of your adult life ARE waiting for you patiently. I think that you are a “ride for the fall” type young lady, so just wait that 2 months with this feat. You ONLY think that living with you real mother or on your own will be a heaven. After a while you may run away from her, too. Because you are a little bit confused where you do belong, so you are oversensitive to certain sentences. Do not shut the door behind yourself.
