Can I pursue a paralegal career with a felony?

Let’s just say I have a bit of a tainted past. I was convicted of a felony in 1998 and since then have had very little luck with finding a promising career. This spring I enroled in a community college for paralegal studies and am into my third quarter. I’m wondering if anyone knows if I really can persue this type of career due to NALA and NFPA’ s strict rules against felons? Or does anyone have another type of a career that i could persue in the event that paralegal studies is not for me?

Hi,

The National Federation of Paralegal Association states on its website that you cannot be convicted of a felony to pursue paralegal programs at most two and four-year universities.
