Help!!! English essay!!! = (

Help !!! I am trying to do a speech but I dont know how to do it…

Its “all pacifists are cowards” Can someone please answer Why are pacifists cowards? I would appreciate help = )

They are SEEN as cowards but they are not necessarily one. The are seen in the act of REFUSING war but then again they can be more cultured and civilized and know better than to have senseless violence against brother and sisterhood. The world should be a big fraternity where everyone is everyone’s friend. They are simply more idealistic.

Most of the time, cowards would not give this reason when asked. They aren’t smart enough.

To determine a pacifist and a true coward, the war must be absolutely necessary to protect the country. If, under this particular circumstance, he refuses war still, he what he is, a coward.

Coward - One who shows dishonorable fear in the face of danger or pain.

The values of a pacifist is that they do not use violence as an answer to situations - ever. So a cowardly pacifist - one showing dishonor - would be one who gives in to the fear and actually uses violence… which is a contradiction. As he is then no longer a pacifist.

Your initial premise is going to have to change the meaning of the English language in order to try to prove that point. The only other way is to try to describe the pacifist from the view point of one who rejects the pacifist’s stance - indeed rejects ANYONE who doesn’t adhere to his own narrow viewpoint.

Well, personally, I don’t think they are cowards - it takes more courage to stand there and be beaten down than it does to take defensive action.

However - that was not your question…so…

I guess a point would be that pacifists refuse to engage in any sort of combat or even get into any arguments.
